Plants are low growing, only 3 to 5 inches tall until it sends up a spike (about 12" to 15" tall) with a cluster or ball of flowers on the top of the spike and more flowers scattered down the spike. Flowers appear most in early summer attracting hummingbirds, bees and butterflies.
