The original not copied, self-catching spring-loaded gate slam latch.

These latches were originally designed by Tuff-E MFG in 1991 formally know back then as Frontier Manufacturing.

The self-catching slam latches we designed originally for buffalo ranching operations so that the producers could work their buffalo from sheeted gates and sorting facilities with the self-catching slam latches on catwalks outside the sorting facilities.

Our original slam latches were then wanted by livestock sale barns for their sorting alleys and pens.

Livestock sale barns throughout South Dakota, North Dakota, and a couple in Minnesota have purchased our original self-catching slam latches for their sale barns.

The self-catching slam latches became a popular latch also for cattle ranching operations being used on cattle sorting facilities they became a popular latch for their gates, bow gates and our original bow-less gates throughout the upper Midwest.

The latches are fabricated from 1/4" steel plate, Plasma table cut, formed and welded, then assembled.

The latches can be used as a single latch or double latch pair in heavy crowding facilities.

The latches can be welded on to steel pipe frames or can be lag screwed to wood posts.

We also fabricate the spring loaded gate latch unit that is mounted to the gate and works in unison with the slam latches.

We also fabricate the single narrow self-catching spring-loaded latch to weld to bow gates and bowless that does not protrude out the sides of the gate frames as much as the wide latches.
