JOHN DEERE 1890 AIR SEEDER & CART VERY SHARP UNIT SHEDDED MOST OF ITS LIFE
Very sharp John Deere 1890 air seeder with cart. This drill has been shedded most of its life except for the last couple seasons and it really shows. Paint is in very nice condition, frame is straight, and the previous owner took very good care of it.
42.5 width with 7.5 spacing.
One of the nicest things about this drill is the condition of the row units and depth adjustment system. The depth adjuster arm shafts are NOT seized up. Every row unit can be adjusted easily by hand. The depth adjuster brackets are in good shape and not wore out like many drills of this age.
Main bushings/pins have been rebuilt and are in good condition with very little play. Closing wheel bushings and firmer wheel bushings were rebuilt as well, and some firmer wheels have been updated.
Seed boots are tight and not wore out in the mounting area. Seed tabs are in good shape. Gauge wheels are in good condition, and about half of them were replaced last year so they fit tight in the housings without excessive wobble.
Discs still have approximately 1/4 before bevel wear is gone. Depending on acres, discs may eventually need replacement after another season or so, but the drill is field ready as it sits.
Cart is in very nice condition:
- Front tank updated with stainless steel meter housing
- Tank sizes: 120 bu front / 150 bu rear
- Rear tank is OEM Meter and in very good condition. Most likely has never had fertilizer through it.
- Bottom runs/tubes are solid and not rusted out
- Tires on the cart are in very good shape
Monitor currently shows 25,734 acres.
Comes with OEM John Deere blockage monitor kit for every run. Kit came from another drill and is ready to be installed.
Markers are still on the drill. We never used them because of GPS, but kept them installed for wing weight.
Overall, this is a very clean, well-kept drill with good paint and solid row units. Not much needed besides normal maintenance. Single run hoses could eventually be updated, although they are still usable and not in terrible condition.
All tires hold air. Some may be getting lower on tread, but overall tire condition is good.
