What is Metalizing??? Metalizing, also known as Thermal Spray Zinc / Aluminum (TSZ/TSA), is a unique method of galvanizing and coating that applies a metal coating to any substrate to safeguard against corrosion and wear. It is also utilized as a non-skid or slip-resistant coating in areas of operation and foot traffic. The process starts with surface preparation by media blasting, Montana Metalizing then uses an electric arc as its heat source to melt the solid wire into a sprayable molten state. The molten metal is then propelled and atomized into the specified spray coating. The coatings are applied at 3-4 mils thick (.003-.004 in), then built-up and layered as specified.
