"Griffin" is a 12-year-old palomino gelding that is exactly the kind of horse most families are searching for. Standing right around 15.1 hands, he's the perfect size for a wide variety of riders, and with his golden palomino color, he's easy on the eyes too.
The first thing you'll notice about Griffin is just how kind he is. He's quiet, forgiving, and the type that gives his rider confidence. In fact, he even spent time as an alternate horse at a children's summer camp, where he proved himself to be exactly the kind of steady, trustworthy gelding you'd want kids climbing aboard. Horses don't get selected for that kind of environment by accident.
Griffin is a wonderful trail horse and truly shines outside the arena. He'll happily spend hours covering country, crosses obstacles without hesitation, and simply goes where you point him. He's the kind of horse you can throw the saddle on, drop the reins, and enjoy the ride. Whether you're riding through the woods, around the farm, or exploring new trails, he takes it all in stride.
He's just as enjoyable around the barn. Easy to catch, stands tied quietly, saddles without any fuss, loads and trailers well, and has the kind of disposition that makes horse ownership easy. In the arena, he rides around willingly, picks up both leads, and goes both directions with ease.
Now, we also believe in being completely upfront about our horses. Griffin has a permanent gait abnormality that causes a noticeable hitch at the trot. After a veterinary evaluation, our veterinarian believes this is likely the result of fibrosis or a similar condition. The important part is that it does **not** affect his soundness or comfort. He is sound on the lunge line, sound at the walk, sound at the lope, and happily spends hours out on the trail without any signs of discomfort. In fact, if you only rode him on the trails, you'd likely never know it was there. It really only becomes noticeable when trotting circles in the arena.
Because of that, Griffin is not being marketed as a performance horse, and his price reflects that. Instead, he's being offered for what he truly excels at: being a safe, dependable trail horse and family partner that someone can simply enjoy for years to come.
For complete transparency, a current **veterinary statement of soundness** and **lunging video** are available for interested buyers.
If you're looking for a safe, honest palomino gelding that has the kind of mind everyone wants and don't need a horse for the show pen, Griffin deserves a serious look. Good trail horses are getting harder and harder to find, and this guy has already proven exactly where he shines.
