Every time someone squeezes a fuel nozzle, there's a lot going on that they never see: underground storage tanks, submersible turbine pumps, product piping, containment sumps, leak detectors, electronic tank monitors, and the point-of-sale system that rings it all up. At HOBBS, we install it, service it, test it, and keep it running for convenience stores, commercial fleets, farms, and industrial sites across North Dakota.

We're looking for a technician who wants to learn all of it.

What you'll actually do

You'll set tanks and run piping on new installs and upgrades, service Gilbarco and Wayne dispensers, troubleshoot Veeder-Root and Franklin Fueling tank monitors, chase down electrical gremlins, and perform compliance testing on sumps, spill buckets, lines, and leak detectors so our customers stay right with the EPA and ND DEQ. Some days you're on an excavator job site; some days you're at a laptop diagnosing a controller. No two weeks look the same.

Who we're looking for

Grown-ups. You show up when you say you will, you own your mistakes, and you'd rather check a fitting twice than find out the hard way. In this trade, attention to detail isn't a buzzword. A loose connection here means fuel in the ground, so we need people who take pride in doing it right.

You'll fit in well if you:

Have done mechanical, electrical, or construction work, whether on a job or your own projects

Can use a Windows laptop and follow a written procedure

Can operate small to mid-size construction equipment (or want to learn)

Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (must pass our insurance MVR check)

Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Can lift 75100 lbs, work at heights, kneel, crouch, and handle North Dakota weather

Are willing to travel, including some overnights

Petroleum experience or industry certifications are a bonus, but we'd rather hire the right attitude and train the skills.
