For most of my life I have purchased horses that are green and need to be finished out as that is my favorite way to go about it. Three years ago I bought this guy, a now 16 year old Morgan gelding. His owners said there were papers but they had been lost. He belonged to a young lady who was headed to college and the location was very close to us so I went for a test ride and thought hed be a great horse to replace my husbands who had just passed away. He is more go than whoa. Though in a situation where he doesnt understand what youre asking or doesnt want to comply, he will stop or back up vs any explosive behavior. He loves people, loves affection. Super easy keeper and very easy to catch. Hes a smooth ride and as you can see from the pictures hes not bad on the eyes. Loads well in a large open trailer, a smaller trailer will take some time and patience. Stands well for the farrier if his buddy can be by him. Middle of the herd, does get very attached so wouldnt be a great horse to ride out alone. Since we got him life took a turn and we ended up adopting a daughter who is very active and needing a lot of our support. I think at 50 I have to settle into the idea that I will need to buy finished out horses from here on out. I dont sell horses often (only one before this guy actually). Im not as concerned about the money as I am finding the right home. Feel free to message any questions and/or come out to our land to take him for a ride. Going to be asking 3xxx. If I had the time I used to Im confident Id have him neck reigned and finished out in one summer. Intermediate rider and up. My husband was the one riding him in these photos today and hes not an advanced rider by any means. I havent had the opportunity to find the right bit for him yet. Ive tried 3 including the one he came with, none seem right. I think if you find the right bit a lot could fall into place quickly. Were located near Harvey, ND.
