1984 Honda V65 Sabre (VF1100S)

I picked this bike up this summer mostly because I was looking for a project but also because I've always really enjoyed these V65 bikes. These are getting harder and harder to find. It was a 2 year only bike.

This one is in very nice shape I did get it in non-running condition, but it was very minor. The person I got it from had gotten it from his grandpa; his grandpa got it from his friend who bought it brand new.

The person I got it from did have it completely serviced. It's got green antifreeze in it. Tires are like new. Carburetors seem to have been gone through. But that was a year ago and sometimes bikes need to be ridden. This one hadn't so gas was old. But I did rinse out the tank, put new gas in it, and have put about 500 miles on it. The bike does only have 12,500 miles or so on it (but I am riding it every once in a while).

This has original pipes, factory stickers on the bottom of the frame are still there. I've never had an old bike in this nice of shape, frankly.

For transparency's sake, there are four potential issues but they don't really seem to impact much as far as I'm concerned:

1. The gas tank did have some rust in it. I just bought an extra fuel filter and thought I'd change it on the side of the road if I needed to -- it does have the factory Honda tools, after all. So far, though, it's fine.

2. The gauges are cloudy. I did google it and there are some solutions to that, but they do still function. i am including a picture of them so you can see.

3. The gas gauge isnt extremely reliable. When full it reads full. When a gallon and a half is gone, it reads one bar gone. 2 gallons gone reads empty. I just watch the odometer like a normal person.

4. I live on gravel. I drive it every once in a while. It's not going to be dust-free.

Regardless, this is a nice piece of Honda history. i do like it, but I'm an old guy and don't ride motorcycle very often. I do ride it often enough, though, that my price is not negotiable. There's potential I'd take a trade, but I can't think of anything I need or want -- I do sometimes get tempted by old motorcycles, cars, pickups, tractors, enclosed trailers, projects even. I'll listen to trade offers of whatever you have, but do be prepared to hear no. The $3500 price is fixed (and cash). And really what else are you going to buy for $3500 that will run an 11 second quarter mile? Or maybe 10? https://v4musclebike.com/threads/1-4-mile-on-the-v65.2644/

Also, this bike does live about 20 miles south of Jamestown with about 3 miles of gravel.
