1991 379 Extended Hood Peterbilt Day cab For Sale: This truck is pretty much for parts unless you're an EXTREMELY ambitious person. The interior is pretty much destroyed. However, it does have a 1LW 3406E 40 pin ECM Caterpillar engine 475 hp that has around 600k on an in-frame rebuild. It ran really strong when I parked and it did not use a drop of oil. The mice have damaged the wiring in the dash and I cannot get the engine to fire. It turns over very well, but it will not fire. I know this engine runs great, but I do not have the time or the money to diagnose the electrical problem in the dash and I just want it gone. I put all new filters on the engine with the exception of the air filters before trying to start it. The fuel that came out of the old filters looked brand new and clean. It has 6" straight stacks in descent shape. It has the all stainless steel Vortox style air cleaners, but only one has the Peterbilt logo stamped on it. The other is stamped Vortox. It has an Eaton Fuller 8LL transmission in it that is almost new. It has almost new Eaton DS-402 differentials 3.55:1 ratio with the old school bud wheels. The hood is straight with no cracks except for on the fenders, but they always crack. The grill crown is in good shape, but it does need a new grill mesh. It sits on regular Peterbilt Air Leaf suspension 260" wheel base. 3/8" frame. Comes with clean title. Need gone A.S.A.P.
